Kerala is making a comeback in tourism in the fifth phase of unlocking. Selected tourist destinations other than beaches have been opened for tourists. Tourists are looking forward to the reopening after more than six months of closure. Tourists are required to meet the COVID standards of personal hygiene and safety as per the government guidelines.
In the first phase, 7 tourist destinations have been opened in Palakkad district in full compliance with the COVID norms prescribed by the government. Srikrishnapuram Bapuji Children’s Park, Vadika Garden, Kanjirapuzha Dam Garden, Parambikulam, Nelliampathi, Silent Valley, and Malampuzha Rock Garden are the opened tourist destinations.
Tourist centers are equipped with heat testing, sanitizer and hand wash facilities for visitors, as well as display boards required to operate according to COVID standards. Priority is given to disinfecting handrails, seats, sidewalks, shelters, toilets, and restrooms at regular intervals to ensure safety.
There is also a strict rule on the number of people allowed to enter a day. Bapuji Children’s Park has 75 seats each, Vadika Udyanam, Parambikulam, Nelliampathi, Silent Valley and Malampuzha Rock Garden has 50 seats each, and Kanjirapuzha Dam Park has 250 seats.

Rock garden
The tourist attractions are open to tourists from Monday. The Malampuzha Rock Garden is the most visited place in the district. Malampuzha is the first rock garden in Kerala and the second in India. It is located close to the dam and the garden. There are beautiful sculptures here. Its main building materials are useless manure, flooring, and other waste materials.
Nelliyampathi
Although the number of tourists visiting Nelliyampathi in the first phase is low, more visitors can be expected in the coming days. Nelliyampathi is famous for its beautiful jungle forests and grasslands. The attraction of this place is that it is always full of coolness.
Silent Valley
Silent Valley National Park is a gift from Palakkad to tourists and nature lovers alike. The biodiversity of the place is over 7 million years old. The region is also closely associated with the Pandavas of the Mahabharata. Covering an area of 89 sq km, it has no beetle-infested noise environment. Trekking attracts tourists here.
